Back From Break & Off We Go

It seems like we just got back from break and it's already time for Progress Reports. Before you know it, summer will be here. Time flies when you are trying to cram as much in their brains as possible!

SPRING BREAK

Spring Break is finally here. YAHOO!!!!
I'm sure we are all in need of a little time off.

I know a lot of people think that teachers have
so much time off and they have it so easy. But
believe me. If you had an average of 20 kids to
take care of 7-8 hours a day, 5 days a week,
you would need a little break too.

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE my students, but
it is nice to have some time to re-energize.

Policies and Procedures

I believe that it is important to share not only the policies and procedures of the school and the grade level, but also those used in the classroom.

I have put my class rules down on paper so that I can easily go over them with my students, as well as have something to print out for any parents who would like to know what I expect in the classroom. I go back and update these as needed.

I created mine by looking at other teacher's classroom policies, and I incorporated things that I specifically use in my classroom: my discipline system, my reward system, my morning routine, etc... I am posting a copy of my classroom policies and procedures, hoping that someone will find it useful in creating one of their own.

First Post

This is the first post of my new blog. I am new at this, so bear with me. I believe that teachers can benefit from sharing ideas, so I am hoping to do just that. As I become more familiar with downloading and posting pics, etc... I intend to place things on this blog that I have found useful and/or helpful in my classroom.

I have a great third grade team at my school, and even though we are self-contained, we share ideas and plan together. My inspi
ration for this blog is one of my best friends, Meghan. She is like a sister to me and truly a GREAT teacher. I depend on her to keep me organized and grounded. You can visit her blog, it is called Oh' Boy 3rd Grade and it is listed under my favorite blogs.
