Super Saturday YouTube Educational Video of the Week: Simple Machines

This weeks video deals with simple machines.  This video gives great examples of simple machines that can be found in school and at home.  We are going to make a simple machine flip book (from Dinah Zikes), and my kiddos are going to illustrate examples of  each type of simple machine.  I think this video will be very helpful in coming up with ideas for their illustrations.

Super Saturday YouTube Educational Video of the Week!

OK, this is a little late, but technically it is still Saturday.  My daughter had a Halloween Party this evening and we spent most of the day making food and decorating.  My 3rd graders are going to begin multiplication this next week and I wanted to find a video that related multiplication to addition. I found this cute rap song about repeated addition, "groups of", and multiplication equations. This is just what I needed and I hope you find it helpful too!

Super Saturday YouTube Educational Video of the Week

This next week in Science, we are beginning our study on weather, more specifically, temperature.  I found this really cute video by Eureka! that discusses Celcius and the boiling and freezing point.  It's a cartoon that I think my kiddos will enjoy.  It relates measuring temperature to the speed of the molecules which is great, because we just talked about the 3 types of matter: solid, liquid, and gas.  Enjoy!
