I'd like to say THANK YOU to all the Veterans, both those who risked their lives and those who gave their lives, for our freedom. We are truly blessed to live in such a great country! May God bless all the veterans and their families and God Bless America!

Pumpkin Project
This year we had our 3rd graders and 4th graders dress up their pumpkins to look like characters from their favorite books. They also completed a packet describing character traits, and story elements. The story character pumpkins were displayed in the library, and everyone was allowed to vote for their favorite one at our fall festival. Here are a few of my favorites:
This one doesn't have the book with it, but is Mr. Magorium from Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium
Aren't they great! I think our kiddos did a fabulous job!

Super Saturday You Tube Educational VIdeo of the Week: Division
Hi bloggy friends! I am posting this a little early as I plan on sleeping in and wanted it to be there bright and early for all of you morning people! We are learning about division this week,so I thought I would introduce it with a video. I found this video from GCF LearnFree.org. It relates division to multiplication and to repeated subtraction. If you are teaching division, you might find it helpful too!

Super Saturday YouTube Educational Video of the Week: Simple Machines
This weeks video deals with simple machines. This video gives great examples of simple machines that can be found in school and at home. We are going to make a simple machine flip book (from Dinah Zikes), and my kiddos are going to illustrate examples of each type of simple machine. I think this video will be very helpful in coming up with ideas for their illustrations.
