Australia Habitat Project

Every year in 3rd grade we study an unusual or unfamiliar habitat. This year we chose Australia. Here are some pics of our Australia Mural that we created in the halls of our school.

This is the Australian Outback.....






This is Tasmania.... the kookaburra was made with real feathers!!!!








Here are the grasslands of Australia.....



....notice the pouch on the koala with the baby in it.

Love the eyes on this one (it's nocturnal).







Everlasting Daisies made out of tissue paper and shiny pompoms, oooooohhhhhh....




Bottle brush flowers with a colorful parakeet perched on them....


Not only did we study the plants and animals, but we also studied the Aboriginal people and their culture as well. Pics of Aboriginal art soon to follow.....

  1. I love what you did for the habitats, especially the birds! I may have to try something similar when we study habitats.
