Clip Art and Graphics for Teachers

I found a great resource for clip art and /or graphics for teachers. You can use it in your classroom and even create items to sell on Ebay and Etsy. It's called Scrappin Doodles. The prices are really reasonable and you can download it right to your computer. They accept credit cards and PayPal as payment and, WAHLAH, instant gratification!!! If you would like to check it out, click on the picture below.

Math Vocabulary Words

Math VocabularyAs I mentioned before I am teaching a Summer Academy class for 4th graders going into 5th grade. We are reviewing math vocabulary words from 4th grade. I created a series of math vocabulary cards to go along with the math lessons. I am including a set of these words for you to download as a freebie. I hope they come in handy!!!

Australia Habitat Project

Every year in 3rd grade we study an unusual or unfamiliar habitat. This year we chose Australia. Here are some pics of our Australia Mural that we created in the halls of our school.

This is the Australian Outback.....

This is Tasmania.... the kookaburra was made with real feathers!!!!

Here are the grasslands of Australia.....

....notice the pouch on the koala with the baby in it.

Love the eyes on this one (it's nocturnal).

Everlasting Daisies made out of tissue paper and shiny pompoms, oooooohhhhhh....

Bottle brush flowers with a colorful parakeet perched on them....

Not only did we study the plants and animals, but we also studied the Aboriginal people and their culture as well. Pics of Aboriginal art soon to follow.....

Bitter Sweet Awards Ceremony

Oh no, my baby is growing up!

My little girl will no longer be at the school that I teach at.
She will be going to 6th grade in another school district where we live.

I will miss having her there with me and knowing she is safe and staying out of trouble.

At the awards ceremony she racked up 11 awards (and one the night before). Here she is with her wonderful teacher Mrs. Ermer (whom I absolutely LOVE!).

I think she was in every club at our school. She also got the highest GPA in the 5th grade
(97 avg.) and she got commended in every subject on the TAKS Test (100 on Reading and Science). I am so proud of her.

Good luck Kaylee. I know you will do great in Middle School !

Let Summer Vacation Begin !!!!

I can't believe it is already summer!
And friends.....call me crazy, but I am teaching Summer Academy.

It is a summer enrichment program at my school for the month of June (only 4 weeks)on Tues. - Thurs. for 2 hours (not too bad).

Although I am a 3rd grade teacher

(only grade I have ever taught),
I am teaching 4th graders going
into 5th grade both math and reading.

I have 9 kiddos and also an aid to help (wish I had that during the regular school year
).

WISH ME LUCK :)
