New Novel Study Finally Finished!!!

I did it!  I finally finished my Because of Winn Dixie Book Study and Activities Packet!  I've been working on this for quite some time and I cant believe it's finally done.

There are 70 pages total, including vocabulary & comprehension questions for groups of chapters (5), activities on synonyms, antonyms, common & proper nouns, and contractions, as well as 4 writing prompts for each chapter grouping, and reading strategies such as compare/contrast, main idea, sequence, cause/effect, setting, problem/solution, character traits, and more...that all relate to the book (I know how hard it is to fit everything in).

I've done all the work for you!  Answer keys are included for most activities, and page numbers are included on the vocabulary & comprehension questions, for easy reference.  If you are planning on reading this novel this school year, why not save yourself some time and check it out?

Available at my TpT or Teachers NB Stores.

  1. Yes!!! I have been waiting for this since I got your Charlotte's Web unit! I debated making my own and it is actually on my to do list but have just not gotten around to starting it yet. I am glad I didn't! I also rearranged my reading order in the hopes you would get this done... if you could see my I am practically jumping out of my seat!

  2. I'm so glad I could help a fellow teacher! I have had some extra time because my daughter had back surgery for scoliosis
(She is doing great!) and I have to stay at home with her. Otherwise, I would already be back at school! Any other books you need a book study on? I'm probably going to do at least one more this year. They do take a a lot of time, but I use them for my class as well.
    Happy BTS!!!

  3. I'm glad your daughter is doing so great after her surgery! We read How to Eat Fried Worms. I know you said someone else already created Tales of a 4th Grade Nothing for your team. I don't have any other class sets of books yet, but plan to get other ones at some point. So if you make a different book that seems interesting I may just get the books lol

    1. I'm going to search my classroom library for How to Eat Fried Worms again. I looked for it at the end of the school year, but couldn't find it. I know I had a copy of it, maybe even two, but no luck finding it so far. I was toying around with doing book studies on A Series of Unfortunate Events. I love those books (my blog name came from them) and there are 13 books. They have great vocabulary in them. I also thought about Stuart Little and Superfudge. I'm leaning towards doing How to Eat Fried Worms first, though. Maybe someone else in the school will have a copy, or I'll check it out of the library if I can't find it. Thanks for the suggestions!
